The newer three-story building, known as the Maples Wing, was constructed in 2009. Located right across from Heroe’s Square, the George Town Public Library is a great place to stop by if you need a little peace and quiet. With a large collection of books spanning three floors, it holds the title of the largest library on the island. The library is clean and the staff are friendly, with free Wi-Fi available as well. You’ll find the main bus depot on Edward St, right beside Heroes Square. The bus depot is only a few minutes’ walk from the cruise port in George Town. Make sure to allocate some additional time for your return trip to the cruise ship, as long lines for the tender boats are common. To avoid any last-minute rush and prolonged waits, consider starting your return to the ship a bit earlier than usual, compared to when at a docked port.

Upon getting off your tender boat, it is very easy to get around, as there are signs and security staff everywhere. Cruise ships dock anchor and tender passengers to shore with there small lifeboats. The tender pier is located in the center of town where you will find lots of shops and restaurants.
Seven Mile Beach consists of several beach areas that are all considered public property. The main terminal is the Royal Watler cruise terminal and this is where the passengers get off/get on the tender boats. Once you get off the tender boat, you’ll see the security gates and the port staff who will point you to the exit. If you’re looking for a more genuine shopping experience, make your way to the Cayman Craft Market, which is only a three minute walk from the port. At the market, you’ll find local vendors selling a wide range of products crafted from local materials. Safety-wise, there’s no need to worry—the drivers are friendly and ensure the ride is safe.
Margaritaville in George Town is a bit smaller than most in the Caribbean but the ambiance is pretty much the same. At the end of the block, Cardinal Avenue is a continuation of the best shops in George Town - Cartier Boutique, Magnum Jewelers, Kirk, La Perfumerie, Time Zone, among others. The public bus is naturally the most affordable way to explore Grand Cayman. Although many a cruise traveler may feel uneasy with public buses in the Caribbean, you shouldn't be as these are very safe, very well kept and a great way to travel around in Grand Cayman.
